This morning found me being fingerprinted at the Police box, not because I had stabbed anyone with an umbrella, but because an honest Japanese man found my cellphone on the sidewalk and returned it promptly to the police lost and found. It must have fallen out of my jacket pocket running back home from buying a delicious vending machine coffee. Why was I running? Because it’s now cold and rainy out and time for rabbit fur coats and hot leather boots. Anyway, I found out it was at the police because I had called myself from Jim’s cell, and a polite Japanese woman answered telling me that she had my phone and to come pick it up. So that was that. That was also the second time this week I have lost my phone. Sometimes I love this country because of the genuine honsety which exudes from just about everybody. Just about…

Then, Jim and I decided to sell some shit and buy some other shit with the money. Jim sold his broken FE 2, his F3 with a tempramental winder, a 28mm 2.8, his MD 14 motor drive, and a AS17 hot shoe adapter. All of this plus a little extra cash got himself a….are you ready? A Carl Ziess Ikon with a 50mm F2 Carl Ziess Planar. Yup….Sometimes I love our jobs here, buying this kind of stuff isn’t too much of a detriment, just a few days of overtime and we’ll be in the clear. I sold my super disgusting Sigma 28-200 zoom and a really clean nice 16mm fisheye lens. I got ¥44,000 so way more than I expected. Then we went bowling 3 rounds on me, and I bought some above mentioned “hot boots.”

Now we are back home and I will go and develop my 6×6 b/w tmax 400. Jim will develop his Neopan super presto pulled to 800.
